Day 8 Yellowstone arrival, eventually

With the East entrance by Cody closed, we had to circle back around to the North, drive West then South to come in the NW entrance. We passed along Clark's Fork, a fork of the Yellowstone River named after Clark of Lewis and Clark. We were following their path for a number of days, and near Missoula, MT found another Clarks Fork, this one a fork of the Bitter Root. Then we drove through part of the Park and exited through the West gate into West Yellowstone, MT. About a mile of the West edge of Yellowstone is in MT, the rest in WY. West Yellowstone is a very small town that caters to the winter snowmobile crowd and summer fishermen (and women). We did have time to look at some bubbling mud-holes/springs. Spring is a great time to do this, since the air (high 30's) is cold enough all the hot water steams.
